Heat for heating, hot water and process heat is supplied via an extensive raw heat network. Steam or hot water is transported in an insulated pipe system from a central combined heat and power plant to the connected consumers. The heat generators can also be distributed decentrally in the network. In the eastern states, 32% of households are supplied with district heating, in the western states 9%.
